Postpartum depression symptoms are 3 times more likely to occur in women who are having back pain and pelvic pain than those without (Gutke A 07), and 37% of women reporting back pain in pregnancy still reported back pain at 18 months postpartum (Ostgaard HC 1992, 1997).
